Opportunity
The opportunity is to join the team in Johannesburg as a Senior Analyst Developer. The candidate will be responsible for full SDLC solution delivery with security and innovation forming an integral part.
 
The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and well under pressure.  There is a requirement for strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills with an ability to develop strong working relationships.  The candidate will also be driven, self-motivated and display leadership skills.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • The ideal candidate must be experienced in core application development using MS technologies.
  • Stakeholder management and ability to independently drive initiatives
  • Assist the team leadership with planning and implementation the team technology roadmap
  • Collaborate with global/offshore teams on global corporate projects
  • Sharing of code and knowledge within the team environment and global teams (prescriptive guidance, known patterns). Code reviews are essential.
  • Adhering to IT controls and procedures
  • Experience working in agile teams an advantage
  • Automated deployment principles and platforms an advantage
Industry Knowledge:
  • Financial services industry knowledge (advantageous)
  • Johannesburg Securities Exchange (JSE) exposure: Trading, BDA, Various (Equity, derivative) markets
  • Exposure to other key financial industry players (South African Reserve Bank, FIC)
Technology Competencies (Essential):
  • Full-stack developer covering front-end, middle tier and database
  • Object oriented programming and software development patterns experience (essential)
  • MS .NET development skills (C#.Net, ASP.Net, MVC, .Net Framework) – at least 6 years experience (essential)
  • MS SQL 2008/12 database development experience (essential)
  • Software development version and control software (Git), Code reviews (Git/Stash), Continuous Integration (Jenkins or similar)
  • Unit and integration testing frameworks, tools and patterns
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies
  • Web development (JavaScript/JQuery and related libraries, XML, HTML, Websockets, Json, Restful Web Services)
     
    Technology Competencies (Advantageous/Future):
  • Cloud development (FAAS, Microservices etc.)
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes etc.)
  • .Net Core exposure
     
    Education / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in IT, Engineering or related fields.
