Job Overview

Role: Principal Technical Architect - Salesforce Platform

Location: Mumbai

We have an exciting opportunity at a Staff+ level to provide strategic technical leadership, help establish a scalable, secure & efficient platform foundation, and deliver on key initiatives as part of our Salesforce Platform team.

It is a Principal Technical Architect I role. This role will provide technical thought leadership for the Salesforce Core CRM platform (i.e. Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, etc.). This role will drive the Salesforce Core CRM platform architecture strategy for General Mills by partnering with the newly forming central platform team and product & project teams to understand business needs, assess the current Salesforce state and design the target state Salesforce solutions that meet needs while driving clarity, enabling enterprise agility, and mitigating risk. This role will provide technical guidance & mentorship to 6-8 Salesforce Core CRM engineers, lead holistic Salesforce CRM platform (i.e. Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, etc.) modernization, optimization, and DevSecOps strategies, roadmap & opportunities, and provide hands on delivery leadership in partnership with agile product & project teams.

Role Responsibilities

50% Central Salesforce Platform Team Technical Leadership

  • Salesforce Core CRM product GMI architectural leadership and functional & technical strategy leader
  • Lead Salesforce Core CRM product GMI architecture creation & oversight
  • Partnership with Salesforce vendor to understand Core CRM product strategies, roadmap, architecture, and best practices
  • Lead holistic CRM org assessment for platform maturity & opportunity identification
  • Lead identification & value/cost of opportunities to modernize, simplify, improve performance, and create scalability & reliability, across the holistic Salesforce CRM platform
  • Lead relationship with Cyber Security team to ensure holistic CRM security principles, architectures and standards are aligned with enterprise security standards
  • Lead for documentation & refresh of design & development standard best practices, principles and standards for Salesforce Core CRM products
  • Lead Salesforce Core CRM pilot opportunities
  • Digest & determine opportunities for new Salesforce Core CRM feature releases and collaborate with other teams to utilize new features of Core CRM platform
  • Participate in delivery of & documentation of central Salesforce Core CRM modernization, optimization, & simplification initiatives
  • Partner to establish & run CRM health, utilization & security monitoring capabilities
  • Partner to establish holistic Salesforce CRM platform scorecard (operational metrics & tracking)
  • Partner on quarterly compliance opportunities, monitoring & true up
  • Provide thought leadership to define or stabilized various process and best practices
  • Assist Salesforce CRM Sr. Managers in project planning & risk management
  • Network with senior internal and external personnel across holistic Salesforce CRM platform

30% Project & Product Team Partnership & Technical Leadership

  • Maintain visibility into all Salesforce Core CRM projects
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project & product teams
  • Understand & challenge new opportunities/business use cases, strategies, and ROI for where Salesforce Core CRM might be used, and to steward holistic CRM org principles in these opportunities
  • Partner with Enterprise Domain & Solution architects on Salesforce Core CRM solution alignment to meet use case needs
  • Lead Salesforce Core CRM technology evaluation, selection and recommendations
  • Own Salesforce Core CRM in-platform solutioning, architecture, integration, and design to ensure solutions meet business requirements
  • Accountable for defining interfaces and patterns for integration with Salesforce Core CRM platform
  • Create & maintain end to end Salesforce ecosystem architecture for assigned segment/function
  • Create & maintain of Salesforce Core CRM technical blueprint artifacts inclusive of: data flow, future state, current state, system diagram, etc.
  • Own providing Salesforce Core CRM technical leadership & best practices to broader ecosystem design sessions where Salesforce platform is involved and/or impacted
  • Leadership role in alternative solution migration as Salesforce Core product discontinuances occur
  • Ensure Salesforce Core CRM solution compliance with non-functional requirements & standards (Security, Platform, Integration, Data, Operations, etc.)
  • Participate in project & product team agile ceremonies where appropriate
  • Provide effective project/task estimation
  • Share feedback, ideas & opportunities with project & product team managers for continued improvement
  • Collaborate with relevant technical leaders or stakeholders on various capability & capacity planning to support future business requirements

20% Mentorship & Technical Guidance

  • Technical SME & thought leader on Salesforce Core CRM architecture, configuration, customization, and integrations
  • Provide technical oversight on approaches, guidance & mentoring for Salesforce Core CRM engineers (internal & external partners)
  • Technical escalation point for Salesforce Core CRM engineers
  • Partner on creation of onboarding plans & onboarding support for new CRM technical resources & external partners
  • Partner to identify & coordinate CRM central platform team and broader internal CRM training opportunities
  • Engage, influence, and evangelize standard Salesforce Core CRM technical practices with development, operational and product groups
  • Lead in different initiatives (Knowledge sharing, Reading Groups, Salesforce CRM Community, etc.)

Must - have skills and experience

  • 15+ years of experience on complex IT projects. 7+ years leading complex Salesforce Core Cloud IT projects through solutioning, design and architecture
  • Profound expertise in designing, developing, and managing solutions within Salesforce Core Clouds (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Consumer Goods Cloud, Platform, Experience Cloud), and Core Cloud addons (CRM Analytics, CPQ). This expertise should also extend to managing integrations with Salesforce Marketing products, App exchange products, and other platforms.
  • Prior successful hands-on experience executing configuration, code (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Aura Components Flow, Visualforce, etc.), and integrations within Salesforce Core CRM products
  • Prior successful hands-on experience executing configuration & code with Experience Cloud (CSS, HTML, Java Script, XML)
  • Strong technical vision & approach to drive scalability & efficiency with global & open mindset
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD and Cyber Security
  • Proven ability to work with cross functional and global teams
  • Strong relationship management and leadership skills, with experience in guiding/mentoring others
