Day in the Life of a Scrum Master

Fluke in Poland is growing - we are setting up a new R&D team in Wroclaw to deliver our newest products. This is a rare opportunity to build a new team within an already-established environment.

As a Scrum Master at Fluke, your typical day will involve working with cross-functional teams to facilitate Agile development methodologies such as Scrum. You will be responsible for ensuring that the team is following the Scrum framework and working collaboratively to deliver high-quality products.

Responsibilities

As a Scrum Master, your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating Agile methodologies such as Scrum and ensuring the team is following the Scrum framework.
  • Coaching and mentoring the team on Agile practices and principles to improve their productivity, collaboration, and delivery of high-quality products.
  • Identifying and removing any obstacles that may prevent the team from achieving their goals.
  • Facilitating team meetings, including daily Scrum, Sprint planning, Sprint reviews, and Sprint retrospectives.
  • Creating and maintaining Agile artifacts, including the product backlog, Sprint backlog, and burn-down charts.
  • Collaborating with the Team Lead to prioritize and refine the product backlog and ensure that the team is delivering value to the customer.
  • Monitoring team progress and performance metrics, including velocity, burn-down charts, and quality metrics.
  • Continuously improving the team's Agile practices and processes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize the team's performance.

These responsibilities will require excellent communication, leadership, and facilitation skills, and a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework. As a Scrum Master, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the team is working collaboratively and delivering high-quality products on time.

Your Team

You will be part of a global engineering organization with team members in Europe, North America, and Asia. You will be working with engineers: HW Engineers, SW Engineers, ME Engineers, V&V Engineers, and Project Managers.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles and practices, with a strong knowledge of the Scrum framework and other Agile frameworks such as Kanban or Lean.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in facilitating team meetings, including daily Scrum, Sprint planning, Sprint reviews, and Sprint retrospectives, as well as creating and maintaining Agile artifacts such as the product backlog and Sprint backlog.

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with SW Development or V&V

  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills, with the ability to guide the team and facilitate meetings to achieve the project objectives.

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to identify and remove any obstacles that may prevent the team from achieving their goals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements, with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering high-quality products on time.
