Business Analyst / Value Analyst - Automation COE



Role synopsis

Business Analyst Component - End to End process assessment for RPA feasibility, RPA automation solutions for existing business processes and create and maintain documentation related to projects, process mapping, business requirement, functional and technical specification, design test script, test plan and go-live release notes.

Value Analyst Component – gather data and analyses, assess and quantify RPA opportunities, provide reports to RPA CoE and the Business re quantification of opportunity, qualify/reject recommendation and justifications to support the decision to go-forward on RPA opportunities.

Additionally to provide validated input into the Business Case, similarly for planning, defining and monitoring process performance as well as tracking risks relating to implementation.

Key accountabilities

Business Analyst Component

  • End to End process assessment for Automation feasibility
  • Design automation solutions for existing business processes
  • Create and maintain documentation related to projects, process mapping, business requirement, functional and technical specification, coding, design test script, test plan and go-live release notes
  • Work together with developer in resolving any open issues during development of project
  • Think out of the box to identify work around and re-design process
  • If required should be willing to learn selected robotics tools for automating process

Value Analyst Component
  • Financial assessment and qualification of candidate RPA processes
  • Determination of As-Is and To-Be process metrics
  • Feed into Business Case and recommendation on go/no-go
  • Engagement with Project/Financial Control

Essential Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

Essential experience and job requirements

Business Analyst Component

  • Good communicator in the BP Business language
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Process assessment experience for End to End process automation
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirement & needs to implement automation solution
  • Self-starter and should have performed assessments independently with minimum support within stringent time line
  • Experience in automation tools will be an asset
  • Good Client communication skills
  • Ability to work with cross functional and regional teams
  • Experience in Process Re-engineering
  • Experience of working with IT developers for solution designing and implementation
  • Experience of creating excel based macros
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft products (incl. Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Knowledge of system designing
  • Knowledge of UAT/Testing
  • Knowledge of basic element of project management & planning

Value Analyst Component

Desirable criteria & qualifications

  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement Methodology
  • Understanding of the role of automation

  • Ability to rapidly identify key issues in a complex situation use conceptual skills to anticipate, identify, and prioritise highly complex issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where answers are not in a policy manual and innovative and creative thinking is encouraged
  • Knowledge of Management of Change process and tracking
  • Knowledge of Transition Management process
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
