While the future is uncertain, the uncertainty can be quantified and managed. Predictions are not perfect, but they can be very useful for making better decisions.

  • Delivery of End to End Statistical Analyses. Work with stakeholders to identify key business questions and hypotheses. From there, own statistical analysis of multiple data sources to find the answers and deliver results.
  • Leads the development and implementation of predictive analytics solutions/ models. (The role requires knowledge of modelling techniques particularly for marketing data sets, the ability to translate technical learning to non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to influence key business leaders to take action).
  • Expand Granularity of Forecasting to help predict where the business needs to go and how the categories are evolving in this changing world.
  • Unilever invests money every year in building different elements of the marketing mix - media, distribution, pricing, promotion, brands. Identify opportunities to unlock growth by optimizing the investments in these elements of the marketing mix.
  • Look for ways to use machine learning models to solve business problems in a way that can be scaled across different BUs.
  • Works with other Data & Analytics teams, and 3-P agency partners to not only collect, clean, and analyze data, but understands and accelerate the role of Data Science and Data Engineering.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Statistical / econometric / numerical / engineering / computer science Degree with 5+ years of strong data modelling/machine learning/deep learning experience.
  • Experience working with and analyzing core Marketing and Sales data sets, including Nielsen, Circana (IRI), and Numerator.
  • Familiar with data and data transformations required for integrating media, price/promo, distribution, short and long-term brand metrics in mix models. 
  • Strong expertise in working with external analytics partners in designing and evaluating experiments to address business objectives.
  • Ability to partner with Data Engineering to access required data and share output easily across the organization.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: Python, PySpark, SQL, R, Java, Javascript.

  • Ability to lead and manage a variety of stakeholders – both commercial and technical
  • Possess business acumen and ability to work in ambiguous ever-changing environment.
  • Enthusiastic about driving Innovation, working in connected networks, and have demonstrated evidence in this regard.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings in a business-friendly language.
  • Experience creating user-friendly analytical “data products”, such as a visualization or repeatable analysis capability that can be accessed by less-technical users.
  • Willingness to challenge the norms and create something new.
  • Good Project Management skills in prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to think through problems and provide clear logic.
  • Able to clearly present information to senior audiences (reports, tools, and summaries).

Pay: The pay range for this position is $98,300 to $147,500. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
