Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Lisbon office as part of Assistants team. You will work with a growing team of Executive Assistants and stakeholders providing support to our Europe, Middle East, and African colleagues. You will collaborate closely with the Assistant Services Operations Manager and other Team Leaders in areas connected with operational activities, strategic initiatives, and motivating and coaching of employees.

What You'll Do

You will manage a team of assistants within our Lisbon office. 

In this office, you will monitor service levels and develop individual staff members to ensure adequate coverage and delivery of world-class service. You will lead, motivate, and mentor assistants to enhance their effectiveness and overall job satisfaction. You will lead or assist recruiting efforts to review and manage adequate staffing levels. You will coordinate backup and overflow coverage to ensure consistent service and quality during absences, unanticipated departures, and peak workloads. 

You will conduct timely and thorough assistants’ performance evaluations by gathering, summarizing, and delivering feedback (on an ongoing basis, as well as formally during year-end reviews). You will also oversee routine administrative duties such as monitoring absences, reviewing and approving time sheets, overtime, vacation, and sick time. 

Additionally, you will assist the Assistant Services Operations Manager with development and implementation of strategic initiatives and projects. You'll also create and maintain an energizing, high-performance work environment reflecting McKinsey values, a collaborative team-based culture and a service mindset by actively contributing to and leading team and site level initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a corporate or professional services environment preferred 
  • Demonstrated maturity, good judgment, self-confidence and flexibility
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change 
  • Openness to new solutions and emerging innovative mindset
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Emerging people leadership skills, comfortable in roles of leader and participant 
  • Ability to manage multiple urgent tasks against aggressive timelines and to stay focused under pressure
  • Critical thinking and strong problem solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and conflict resolution skills; strong influencing capabilities
