As a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, you will take ownership for quality and continuous improvement across a range of suppliers. You will build relationships with internal teams, suppliers to ensure successful delivery . You will ensure supplier quality to global standards and lead continuous improvement where there are performance issues. Job location-Pune

As a Lead Sourcing Specialist - Supplier Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for:

  • Being responsible for Supporting Supplier Quality Assurance for “Engineering system & Fabrication” category aligned with the India Sourcing regional growth.
  • Being responsible for Supplier Quality Performance improvement for “Engineering system & Fabrication” category from FPQ’s till execution of serial production orders.
  • Managing onboarding of new supplier, recommends improvements utilizing Supplier Scorecards and ensuring supplier compliance.
  • Using Quality tools to identify the risk and define effective mitigation plan to flawless execution.
  • Leading robust root cause analysis & Using DMAIC methodology / APOLLO RCA to identify & eliminate.
  • Conducting audits (Process, Product, Quality systems, SSRP/Compliance, 'Eyes always Open').
  • Being an Expert for Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering organizations to improve Quality and Manufacturing processes at supplier end.
  • Mentoring the Suppliers to deliver the products on time with full compliance.
  • Being responsible for key metrics defined for Quality, Delivery, Cost of Quality, RCA effectiveness.
  • Developing positive relationships with all stakeholders to manage and implement Engineering changes, New Product Introductions (NPIs).

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a graduate in Mechanical engineering with 12+ years’ experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Vendor related functions.
  • Have Green Belt, Black belt (Preferred) and ability to travel locally and internationally.
  • Have an ability to demonstrate good EHS background, familiar with Indis Environmental, health, and safety law and regulations.
  • Have an expertise in International Standards & Regulatory Requirements with specifications (ASTM, PED, IEC, ANSI, CE, CSA, UL, DIN)
  • Have a sound understanding of Fabrication processes, P&ID, special processes like painting, welding, NDE etc.
  • Have well versed in understanding drawings, Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), manufacturing process plan (MPP), conducting FMEA’s.
  • Have a Knowledge in welding & NDT ( good to have) and Ssound understanding of Pressure vessels, fluid systems & Structural items etc.
  • Be able to understand and establish appropriate inspection/measurement system based on the technical specification and functional characteristics.
  • Have good project management skills to handle multiple projects and good collaboration skills to connect with internal & external customers?
  • Have good decision-making skills to various project issues/challenges and good at multi-tasking to meet business expectations.
