Who you are:
As a Director of Engineering, your will be managing, coordinating and leading the staff of software development, analysis and integration teams.
You will be responsible for driving change management processes throughout the organization, by partnering with key stakeholders in Germany to ensure a transition from a headcount based approach to a workload/deliverables based approach.
You will be providing strategic guidance to your domain leads to ensure that you promote Harman culture, as well as will be responsible for delivery and overall success of each program, by supervising and reporting its progress and performance.
What are your responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced Director, with a demonstrated ability to not only drive business objectives forward, but drive change in an organization with a constant focus on both quality and people.
You’ll be working closely with Alex, the MD for the Harman Bucharest site, and partner with the rest of the local management to build a strong content-driven organization.
In this role you will be responsible for initiating and setting the goals for the department you are running, according to Harman’s strategic objectives, with a keen eye towards the deadlines, milestones and processes that need to be followed.
To share visibility internally, you will need to prepare detailed and accurate reports and presentations. In doing so, you will be relying on the data provided by your direct reports, thus allowing you to evaluate and monitor the team’s performance, determining the needs for improvements.
Last but not least, you will be financially responsible for the success of the department you are running.
What skills you have:
An ideal candidate would have 15+ years of experience in software development, from which at least 7 years in either a Manager or Program Manager position.
Experience in the IT industry is a must, with a strong preference towards people with exposure to the Automotive industry.
You will need to have demonstrated capacity in driving change management, with an ability to enhance already existing programs to an even higher level of quality.
Your organizational and leadership skills should be outstanding, and should have deep knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
We’d like you to have very strong communications skills, with advanced English being a must.
And of course, your data reporting and budgeting capabilities need to be on par.
