As an experienced service designer, you drive experience design from end-to-end, including discovery, ideation, concept, prototype, test & validation. You will work with and lead product owners, designers, analysts and developers to design relevant and exceptional experiences. 

You will support and review the requirements during functional analysis and follow up on the progress in development, requiring close collaboration with the Product manager and delivery lead. You are passionate about creating disruptive digital services and products that improve the lives of the target audience by offering them a delighting user experience. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and to take on serious responsibility when working in the field and beyond.

You will be:

  • Guide the team in performing thorough user research to the needs and pain points using quantitative and qualitative techniques (interviewing, observation sessions, surveys,..)
  • Ideate on and assess new concepts from a business viability / value and feasibility perspective, supported by the experts in field
  • Moving from analysis to synthesis and/or design intent and develop personas and user journeys based on user needs and insights from the business
  • Visualizing, articulating and solving complex problems and concepts, and make disciplined decisions based on available information and research evidence
  • Applying technical knowledge and experience to design concepts & sketches

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of service designers , UX/UI designers, functional analysts on a daily basis
  • Set direction and assure the quality of design delivery across teams
  • Give direction on which tools or methods to use. You can demonstrate experience in meeting the needs of users across a variety of channels.
  • Lead the design cycles and sprints and together with the team, define the user needs and related solutions.
  • Manage the design iterations, and prioritize the design backlog based on different factors (business roadmap, user value, development complexity,…)
  • Together with the team, define functional, visual and technical product specifications and follow-up during on the product during agile development cycles.
  • Manage continuous design sprint cycles to grow a digital product or service.

Let's talk about you

  • You are a native German speaker with fluent English skills. Other languages are a plus.
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience as a Service Designer or Design strategist with proven knowledge of design sprints and the agile development process 
  • You have experience with leading multi-disciplinary teams and able to estimate, plan and follow up the progress and deliverables of your team
  • Excellent eye for detail whilst maintaining the big picture thinking
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to both technical and business audiences. 
  • Experience in a strategic or client services role in a professional services, agency or consulting environment. 
  • You master exceptional problem-solving skills and have a curious mind and a passionate work ethic.
