Job Description

The Project Manager - Electrical Support, supports the development and delivery of the construction of the projects from site selection through design, permitting, construction and operation, for electrical infrastructure (power distribution lines, substation, easements, etc). 

The Project Manager - Electrical Support will be a key contributor in the execution of comprehensive permitting programs and to the pre-construction program. This role will require regular engagement with key stakeholders from Mexico (Querétaro). 

Specific Job Task – Site due diligence management; permit application reviews; permit approval delivery; site acquisition, design and entitlements. 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will: 

  • Manage the permitting and approvals process for a portfolio of projects to enable new datacenter development and construction throughout Mexico (Querétaro).
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments during due diligence and throughout design and construction to identify permit requirements and associated risks. 
  • Coordinate with key internal counterparts including land development, design, construction, operations and environmental team leaders to develop comprehensive and integrated permitting and project delivery strategies 
  • Communicate key risks, mitigations, and policies to client stakeholders. 
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to Identify innovative solutions to resolve delays to construction or other activities due to permitting delays. 
  • Own key strategic relationships with regulatory agencies, government officials and other key external stakeholders and act as a single point of contact for all discussions around permitting, planning approvals, and pre-construction delivery. 
  • Support the development of program tools and processes to continuously improve the delivery of permits, approvals and entitlements for datacenter development. 
  • Educate the project team on permitting requirements to ensure timely approvals and compliance 
  • Manage permit approval conditions to ensure compliance 
  • Key Metrics will include permitting and delivery timeline predictability 
  • Have a strong background in project management and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive desired outcomes. 
  • Understand the development process, foresee future challenges, and mitigate challenges. 

Skills and Qualifications 

To be successful, you must have a strong background in land development, permitting and entitlement, be able to work in a dynamic and global organization, and have a strong desire to continually learn and innovate. We will expect you to: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, or equivalent area. 
  • 7+ years of experience delivering large scale and/or complex planning and construction projects. 
  • Be fluent in business English & Spanish 
  • Work well within a fast-paced organization who is a self-starter, process-minded, and collaborative.
  • Experience delivering permits and planning approvals, and other entitlements for large scale and/or complex construction projects. 
  • Experience managing a portfolio of projects and associated budgets and schedules 
  • Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional and positive working relationships with internal and external teams including environmental consultants, attorneys, contractors, and regulatory agencies. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and high standards for quality of deliverables. 
  • Environmental permitting experience 
  • Community Engagement and Stakeholder engagement experience
