Assistant Press Operator - Mebane, NC

The Opportunity:
- Review job ticket with 1st Press Person to determine, size, quantity of sheets required and colors.
- With assistance from 1st Press Person ensures that the ink supplied matches the ink specs on job ticket.
- Adjust printing units for proper sheet size.
- Mounts plates in press, either alone or with 1st Press Operator, in press, ink’s press, and ensures feeder is loaded properly and then begins to run the press.
- Continually checks quality and registration of work as directed to ensure that customer specs are met.
- Completes necessary production and quality reports with 1st Press Operator as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Manager, Supervisor and/or Lead Person.
What you need to succeed:
- Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs intermittently and up to 75 lbs rarely.
- Ability to work in a tobacco-free environment
- Stand up to 12 hours per day.
- Bend, twist, climb, squat, kneel occasionally throughout the shift.
- Uses hands for simple and power grasping, as well as push, pull and fine manipulation.
- Work at and/or below shoulder level.
- See fine detail in printed product along with checking for color accuracy.
- See color and distinguish color differences.
- Previous offset printing press experience is required.
- Attention to detail.
- Communication skills
- Must work in a hot, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment
- Must wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, hair nets, steel-toed boots, etc.)
- Must maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
