MINDBODY is looking for a Copywriter in our San Luis Obispo office who will cultivate our brand voice through a variety of marketing initiatives, and advocate for our customers. Driven by details, Copywriters use words to translate complex ideas into relatable and intuitive user experiences. They are naturally curious, constructively critical, and passionately meticulous. Copywriters have a strong command of the written word, and draw upon their experience, skill, and intuition to conceptualize solutions across our web and mobile products through the creation of marketing print collateral, web UI, emails, event collateral and various other marketing campaign communications. You should be an enthusiastic person who has a strong command of the written word. You’ll demonstrate your attention to detail and problem-solving skills by writing new assets and modifying existing ones. Copywriters are talented and driven with a passion for creating ground-breaking work. Copywriters are passionate about people, customer obsessed, and are able to collaborate across disciplines on a daily basis all while maintaining high standards for detailed execution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS degree in English, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, technical certification or equivalent.
2-4 years working in a digital copywriting role.
A well-crafted and curated online portfolio.
Professional knowledge of English grammar and strong familiarity with various forms of style and composition.
Able to make creative decisions and draft original, compelling copy that is on brand and adheres to strategy.
Able to take on responsibility, collaborate effectively, and work comfortably across disciplines.
A solid intuition of best practices used in user-centered interaction design.
Past experience on teams that have created new products as well as improved existing ones.
UX know-how (preferred, not required).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with UX Designers, Visual Designers, and fellow Copywriters to develop influential content, addressing design specifications and applying results gained from user testing and research.
Help build and maintain a brand voice and tone, ensuring consistency across all touch-points in the customer journey by creating standards, style guides, and processes.
Work closely with members of the Product Management and Marketing teams to align content strategy with target audience needs, brand positioning, and team resources.
Mentor fellow Copywriters to foster expertise and develop team talent.
Participate in the brainstorming and creation of concepts for best-in-class user experiences.
Sets challenging goals and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and persistence about accomplishing them.
Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of copywriting.
Some evaluation or ingenuity is required to complete tasks of moderate scope and complexity and to determine appropriate action.
