The Senior Project Engineer on the Mega and M&A Engineering team will be responsible for design and engineering of utility scale solar PV and energy storage projects in development and construction phases. Responsibilities include lead and support engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, including design development and peer reviews, energy and performance modeling, equipment selection and specifications, and preparation of engineering calculations. Provide technical inputs to support Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) pricing estimates, RFP responses, permitting applications, design drafting, and technical due diligence for M&A project evaluations. Responsibilities also include engineering management, development and review of contract documents, participation in technical negotiations, preparation of procurement specifications, punch list development, and delivery of ongoing technical support throughout project execution.
Designs will be developed, optimized, analyzed, and reviewed using industry-standard tools, including PVsyst, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, MS Office, and SharePoint. This role will provide technical leadership across multiple projects by defining design-phase roadmaps, establishing development engineering standards and processes, and training and mentoring junior engineers. The successful candidate will manage complex, multi-project priorities, communicate progress to the Senior Manager of Mega and M&A Engineering, and operate effectively with distributed and remote teams. A strong background in the development, execution, analysis, and design of utility-scale, transmission-interconnected PV and battery energy storage systems is required, along with a demonstrated ability and commitment to coaching and developing engineering talent. Experience with additional renewable technologies such as wind, green hydrogen, or hydroelectric systems is a plus. Excellent communication, planning, and task-management skills, combined with broad technical expertise, are essential for success in this role.
The position is in Louisville, CO / Houston, TX / Salt Lake City, UT / or New York, NY and may include up to 25% travel to project locations and partner offices, including international travel.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $113,000 and $141,525/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
