Overview

Works in concert with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer of Yale New Haven Health System and serve as the strategic interface with assigned areas of the health system. Provides internal and external coordination, management, and oversight of administrative activities related to the development and implementation of the vision and goals of the Finance and Corporate Services Division. This role will include project management, coordination of senior staff meetings and presentations, preparation of materials for boards and committees attended by CFO, and other tasks determined by the System CFO. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with key constituents, including Yale-New Haven Health Leadership, Operational and Strategic Leadership, and Yale University School of Medicine and Yale Medical Group Leadership. This position will report directly to the CFO of Yale New Haven Health System.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Represent the CFOs interest in the development of the Finance and Corporate Services Division. This can include financial reporting, strategic planning scenarios, programmatic development across the Health System, employee events, or any other potential project at the discretion of the CFO. This job will require the individual to take a leadership role relative to the specific projects.
  • 2. Coordinate the materials, information, or other data pertinent to the ongoing operations of the Office of the CFO. This will include connecting, and development of working relationships with the various leadership groups of the corporate services division
  • 3. Act as communication conduit between different departments of the Finance and Corporate Services Division in order to accomplish the goals and strategies of the CFO.
  • 4. Develop presentation materials, or other information intended to be utilized by the CFO. These presentations could take the form of any venue in which the office of the CFO is required to provide information including discussions with Executive Leadership, the various Finance Committees, or Boards of the organization.
  • 5. Work with Finance Division leadership to coordinate senior staff meetings, and other organized events of the Division at the direction of the CFO
  • 6. Act as a member of the team supporting the office of the CFO. This will involve assistance in the production of any materials, coordination of any meetings, or connection with other administrative offices
  • 7. Support all departments within the Finance and Corporate Services Division.
  • 8. In all aspects of the role act in accordance with the Values of Yale New Haven Health System.
  • 9. Perform other tasks, and responsibilities at the discretion of the CFO.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

 

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field required with Master's Degree preferred

 

EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum of seven years of experience in Hospital Finance or related field. 1-2 years leadership experience required. Experience successfully leading large scale, complex projects. Applicants with sufficient combination of Master?s Degree and experience also considered.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS

 

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels within the Organization. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Strong presentation skills both oral, and written including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint. Must exercise creativity and initiative thinking in making recommendations with the ability to influence the thinking of others. Knowledge of the hospital industry and health care environment required.
