The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description

KLA is looking for high-energy intern for several exciting projects this coming Summer in our Dresden, Germany location.

This position provides a unique opportunity to learn about industrial equipment for the semiconductor industry. Specifically, this position provides an opportunity to perform hands-on work and contribute to the development of sub-components for KLA’s inspection and metrology tools.

The individual in this role will work self-motivated in a team with other engineers on a specific aspect of a larger project.

What does a Day of a Customer Support Engineer (CSE) look like?

In this position, the candidate would join a Customer Support Engineer in daily work such as perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on highly complex capital semiconductor equipment, supporting troubleshooting, diagnosing and repair of KLA equipment, coordinating actions with customers in order to assure minimal production impact.

They would be working in a team environment and collaborating with engineers from different disciplines, such as electrical engineering, optical engineering, and computer science. The candidate will try to identify potential systematic issues and propose potential improvements in order to create project plan to implement improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • The successful candidate should have taken classes in engineering and have basic knowledge in electrical/mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in engineering is a plus.
  • The candidate should have strong analytical capabilities, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • They must demonstrate perseverance and ability to work collaboratively with individuals across different functions and locations, as needed.
