Mission and main objectives:

Evaluation, analysis, and judgment of the performance of Autonomous Driving (AD: Autonomous Drive) systems, through vehicle tests for projects in the AMIEO region.

Evaluation and reporting to NML of new technologies and market trends, related to the performance of Autonomous Driving functions.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Understand the testing methodology of AD systems at Nissan.

Plan and execute AD tests for assigned projects, including management of necessary resources: allocation of resources, vehicles, parts and measurement equipment.

Plan and execute homologation tests for AD systems.

Issue technical reports for the development tests carried out.

Understand the current and future requirements of AD protocols in the AMIEO region such as: AD Assessment, EURO NCAP, etc. regarding Autonomous Driving functions, including the execution of the Pre-Test prior to the Official test.

Prepare, execute, and analyze competitor test, to understand market trends and apply them to future projects if necessary.

Participate in decision-making events where project targets are defined, as well as in the subsequent evaluation to confirm the performance target achievement.

Provide support to NML for the evaluation and development of new Autonomous Driving systems.

Contribute and carry out tasks for the improvement of procedures, standardization of evaluation methods and department strategies, as required.

Report and coordinate, when necessary, with other sections or functions.

Efficiently use the section resources to achieve the objectives defined.

Requirements:

Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.

Knowledge of chassis control systems, vehicle dynamics and vehicle components that influence AD performance.

Experience with communication protocols: CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, and LIN.

Experience in understanding electrical and electronic architectures.

Experience in complete vehicle evaluation, including vehicle preparation, updating (hardware and software), and instrumentation of measurement equipment.

Experience in vehicle measurement and data acquisition systems: Canape, Canalyzer DDT2000, V-Box, RT-Range, etc.

Experience in dynamic driving and high capacity for evaluation (subjective and objective) of the performance of AD functions.

Good ability to work autonomously.

Good ability to lead AD development projects in the AMIEO region.

High capacity for planning, monitoring, and executing test plans.

High ability to solve problems and propose solutions, even cross-functionally if necessary.

Good ability to work in new areas of development, where a definition of procedures is necessary.

Good analytical and priority management skills.

Ability to propose ideas that improve the development and execution of validation tests.

Good communication and presentation skills.

Knowledge of Nissan Way values for global development and the AMIEO market.

Fluent English.

Availability to travel both nationally and internationally, within the framework of Nissan's travel policy.
