Main missions

The SPM team’s activities revolve around two core areas:

1. Group Strategic Program Committee (SPC) Governance:

  • Recommending new programs for SPC oversight.
  • Coordinating the review of programs from design to closure, issuing recommendations.
  • Supervising group functions’ 2nd opinions on program relevancy and readiness.
  • Tracking execution status, providing periodic updates and recommendations.
  • Ensuring follow-up on recommendations and closure of actions.
  • Contributing to governance improvements and sharing best project management practices across the group.

2. Strategic Investment Portfolio & IT Spend Review:

Leading annual review of AXA’s investment portfolios across entities and corporate centers:

  • Assessing strategic allocation (IT and non-IT).
  • Ensuring alignment with Group and local priorities.
  • Delivering consolidated analysis and insights to senior management.
  • Identifying projects for SPC governance.
  • Promoting best practices in portfolio management.

Deep dive into IT investments via the IT Stratplan:

  • Reviewing local and Group IT spending and future trajectories.
  • Ensuring alignment with Tech & Data strategies.
  • Benchmarking to identify trends, best practices, and savings opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with local Project Portfolio Managers, Program Managers, and Directors for entities under SPC.
  • Support IT Stratplan team in analyzing investment portfolios and preparing for investment clearance.
  • Lead the creation of SPC presentations with Program teams.
  • Collaborate with Group functions for actionable 2nd opinions (Risk, Procurement, Finance).
  • Recommend, facilitate decision-making, and track program approvals.
  • Support COO/CIO dialogues by consolidating inputs and structuring strategic discussions.
  • Promote PPM best practices across AXA by engaging community of Portfolio Managers and defining standards.

Expected skills & experience

We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills:

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years (at least 5 in relevant roles) in large multinational firms, preferably insurance.
  • Proven track record in international environments, engaging with stakeholders at group and local levels.
  • Background in consulting, audit, finance, operations, or program management, especially in tech or dynamic sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or MBA is a plus.
