Job Overview

The Facilities Operations and Communication Coordinator serves as initial point of contact for community work requests via phone, email, online requests and walk-ins. 

They assess urgency of requests and route requests to appropriate facilities management area with the appropriate priority; and facilitate communication among field personnel, management, and customers.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Logistics, the Facilities Operations and Communications Coordinator has ongoing interactions with the Facilities community.

They routinely communicate with the Assistant Director of Logistics to review workflow; and update changes to Work Management Center webpage for planned events, planned work, and other community needs.

When supervisors are not present, they assign work as supervisor present. 

This position has been designated as On-Campus. Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or certified equivalency 
  • 5 years of administrative experience – preferably with Facilities organizations
  • Computer literacy – preference for experience with database software
  • Basic knowledge of English, including the ability to read, write and speak English with understanding in order to communicate effectively and professionally via email, phone, online request and radio
  • Demonstrated ability to understand emergencies versus urgent issues
  • Strong ability to multitask and following disciplined workflow processes.
  • Ability to walk buildings for work completion inspections
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to manage difficult customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or work order system
