The Computer Systems Tech - Video (CSTV)is more than just a modern-day electrical technician. The CSTV provides operational support to Walt Disney World’s video infrastructure, they provide hardware support to multiple lines of businesses. The CSTV might respond to any digital hardware needs, including performing video SD card programing, installation, Appspace/BrightSign configuration, maintenance for the video components for any hardware or potential software issue. The technician supports all associated equipment including televisions, intercom systems, digital signage players, cameras, respective mounting hardware and all corresponding cabling and connections. The CSTV will provide programming, installation, monitoring, technical support and ongoing maintenance of the Walt Disney Enterprise video infrastructure and respective systems. The technician will be expected to provide hands on installation and technical support and onsite consultation with customers. As a member of the Video Telecom team, we will also provide operational support. The CSTV position may include working with power tools, specialized equipment, working from elevated platforms, ladders, bucket trucks and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $37.43 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and configuring Appspace/Brightsign players and/or Samsung and LG TV’s.
  • Perform programing of Digital Signage Programing on SD cards or on dedicated devices for Digital Signage Team.
  • Support and maintain the video infrastructure which includes video network amplifiers, hardline coax, fiber, and other devices throughout WDWPR.
  • All video cameras, intercom systems, camera hardware, LPR Cameras, video testing equipment, OTDR, flukes and scopes.
  • Cabling, and testing switch ports
  • Troubleshoot, install, mount and program IP cameras
  • IP cameras
  • TVs
  • Digital signage player
  • Intercom units
  • Wired network infrastructure
  • Collaborate with the network engineering team and service suppliers
  • Works to resolve routine issues
  • Cast member may be required to handle chemicals and supplies
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required.
  • Working with power tools, specialized equipment will be needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in computer support
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a video technology enterprise environment that
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Knowledge of Digital signage technology, concepts, hardware and software.
  • Knowledge and experience with enterprise video support, cable tv support, sustainment, and the implementation of the network and required equipment
  • Knowledge of TV hardware installation, mounting, dressing of cabling
  • Working knowledge of IP camera installation, coax RF level and signal distribution knowledge, low voltage experience, cable locate tools, trenching and outside plant experience
  • An understanding of networking characteristics such as: ip routing, switching, OSI model principles, DHCP, VLAN configuration.
  • Networking analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Brightsign installation and configuration knowledge
  • Appspace Installation and configuration knowledge
  • File structure and formatting pertaining to DS players
  • Strong networking background
  • Genetec (Security Center) experience
  • Fiber termination (fusion splice), Cat6 termination, RG6 termination, and cabling background
  • Low voltage background with routing and switching experience
  • Cable plant experience
  • Intercom installation experience
  • Good mechanical and electronic aptitude

Required Education

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent work experience
