IT Applications Developer


Zendesk is looking for an IT Applications Developer  to join our IT team. This is the first of this kind role in our IT organisation. You are not shy, you jump in with respectful opinions, and you're ready to take on any task, large or small, development or analysis – whatever will make the team successful.  Come join us here in IT to help add Engineering capabilities to our Service Desk/Operations team. You should be a general all-round coder. Personally, you are warm, caring, funny, honest, observant, humble, rational, and a great listener.

What you get to do every day

  • Work closely with Global Service Desk to identify pain points and develop scalable applications to reduce or eliminate pain points
  • Analyze, design and develop software applications using various technologies, tools and best practices
  • Provide support on developed applications and make continuous improvements
  • Prepare UAT and technical documentation for developed applications
  • Learn from our diverse engineering teams across the company.

What you bring to the role

  • Development experience using one or more programming language: Ruby, PHP, Python, React, Elixir , Go Lang, Scala with familiarity on front end frameworks such as HTTP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Knowledgeable on modern cloud based business apps & API (Zendesk, Workday, Salesforce a plus)
  • Understand the principles of software development within an Agile environment.
  • Has a knack of uncovering complex systems, understanding them and delivering solutions to production.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
