Job Description

In this newly scoped role you will be responsible for providing HR support to a designated client group within Thermo Fisher Scientific New Zealand and to business units and the HR team in ANZ on a broad range of human resources policies, programs and practices.

Key focus areas include developing and maintaining positive employee relations, performance management, learning and development, HR processes & polices, compensation, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement Thermo Fisher Scientific ANZ and global programs, processes and initiatives supporting the effective management of Human Resources and employee engagement
  • Manage and support the annual performance and salary review process. Recommend salaries for new hires and promotional increases ensuring internal equity and market competitiveness
  • Provide recommendations and solutions covering multiple areas in human resources including employee development, communications, compensation & benefits, employee relations, performance management, organisational planning and change management
  • Provide interpretation and advice to line management regarding policies, programs and practices
  • Support the development of new policies, practices and programs to meet organisational and support employer of choice initiatives
  • Deliver training and information sessions to employees and managers including careers in motion, annual Performance Management Process (PMD) and HR policies
  • Organise and participate in employee on-boarding activities for newly hired employees. Work closely with managers to ensure a positive and welcoming experience for new employees
  • Foster strong working relationships with employees and leaders. Support specific employee engagement and involvement committees including town hall meetings, employee resource groups and corporate social responsibility initiatives
  • Use Practical Process Improvement (PPI) tools to improve HR processes and solve people related issues

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2-3 years of human resources experience as either a HR coordinator or junior HR Advisor
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Psychology or related field
  • Experience in recruitment and performance management processes
  • Experience with employment law and agreements including collective agreements

  • Ability to travel (<20%)
