Collaborate with a diverse team supporting Raytheon's critical and fast-paced programs with classified information system capabilities in a mixed Unix-based/Windows-based environment. We have an immediate need for a Systems Administrator at an international radar site. The position is unaccompanied. This position requires an existing security clearance.

NOTE - This role will require forward deployment to the international location, under the terms of an MOU/Long Term International Assignment managed by Raytheon International Assignment Services (IAS).

Job Description:

The Site System Administrator has direct responsibility for ensuring that the site computer systems, both tactical system and non-tactical support systems, are fully functional 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

These responsibilities include:

  • Installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems on site
  • Ensuring that all the Information Assurance (IA) software security patches and version and virus signature file updates for the radar support systems are up to date
  • Recommending any improvements or other changes necessary
  • Maintenance of system and data security processes and applications such as virus scanning, auditing, collection of audit logs, system scripts and data collections scripts
  • Running periodic system and data security scans, backups and recovery tasks as required per published system administration procedures.
  • Assisting in development and update of system administration procedures
  • Supporting Disaster Recovery and incident response exercises as required
  • Updating network diagrams following integration of approved system configuration changes
  • Ensuring that configuration changes follow the change approval process
  • Updating system hardware and software inventories for all approved integrated changes
  • Reviewing security logs and personnel accounts with site IAO
  • Providing project management for computer systems related projects
  • Supervising and providing training to Operator/Maintainers in computer skills when needed
  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for computer problems beyond the knowledge of the O&S team on site and interfacing with engineering support for computer problems
  • Providing vendor interface for hardware and software repair and maintenance
  • Procure equipment when required after identifying requirements with the customer, selecting the appropriate product, submitting the purchase requisition and providing vendor follow-up
  • Assisting with day to day radar activities and maintenance as directed by lead engineer
  • Take technical direction from the Radar System Engineering Lead as required
  • Other duties as assigned by the Radar Site Manager

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in related technologies performing above roles and responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of the Unix/Windows operating system
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and group policy management
  • Security+ certification
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • This position requires an existing security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Good understanding of fundamental TCP/IP concepts
  • Strong understanding of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in software/systems integration planning and execution
  • Documented experience on DoD or Missile Defense Programs or similar
  • Masters of Science in an Engineering discipline
  • Working knowledge of NetApp systems
  • Working knowledge of Cisco switches and routers
  • Working knowledge of HBSS “host based security system”
  • Working knowledge of ACAS Nessus “Assured Compliance assessment solution”
  • Working knowledge of MFA “Multifactor authentication administration”
  • Working knowledge of VMware ESXI
  • Working knowledge of RMF “risk management framework”

Required Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field or 8 years experience in lieu of degree along with all the required certifications.
