This position is responsible for safely and efficiently performing inspections, repairs and maintenance of general-purpose government vehicles. This position functions as the Alternate Vehicle Manager.

This position requires the individual to be Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified meeting contract requirements.

Responsibilities

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES

  • Description: As Lead, overseas vehicle pre-inspections to aid in diagnosis of issues and post inspections of vehicles to ensure concerns resolved. Aids Manager in workflow. Able to help in diagnosis in both light and heavy equipment.
  • Be able to Install and connect vehicle electric wiring as required
  • Understand diagnostic processes of varied vehicle electric and mechanical systems
  • Pull wires and harnesses through chassis as required
  • Mount standard and optional equipment and all necessary electrical connections as needed
  • Conduct functional tests of electrical and mechanical systems as well
  • Correct or adjust any identified defects
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication with internal and external customers
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities
  • Responsible for completing all required reports and equipment statuses
  • Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
  • Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion
  • All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • ASE Certified
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must have valid U. S. Passport and U. S. Real ID Driver’s License.
    • Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements.
    • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and medical screening
  • Experience:
    • 2 -3 years' experience as an auto electrician.
    • Advanced knowledge of modern vehicular electrical systems.
    • Ability to operate electrical diagnostic equipment
    • Automotive electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in vehicles, ensuring all components function correctly and efficiently.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to distinguish subtle color variations
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain electrical wiring and electronic components in various vehicles, including cars, trucks, and agricultural machinery
    • Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose electrical issues using specialized diagnostic equipment, troubleshoot problems, and propose effective solutions.
    • Repair Work: Repair or replace faulty wiring, electrical systems, and components, ensuring all repairs meet safety standards.
    • Customer Interaction: Gather information from customers regarding electrical issues and provide estimates for repair costs and timeframes.
    • Documentation: Complete job reports and maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
  • Physical Stamina:
    • Capability to work in confined spaces and perform tasks that may require standing or crouching for extended periods.
    • Utilizes a variety of shop tools and other general office equipment.
    • May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions that require wear of hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protection equipment.
    • Must be able to lift up to 20lbs unassisted
