Assistant Manager - Production

You will be working as Assistant Manager – Production at global grade 14 and will be part of Motion Business Area for Large Motors and Generators Division based in Vadodara, India. In this role you will be reporting to Operation Manager - MOLM, India and will be responsible in organizing and allocating resources to effectively and efficiently meet line production targets and responding to resource issues as necessary.

Your responsibilities

  • Leading capacity planning and resource optimization for the assigned area
  • Ensuring that production scheduling and production plan meets the volume requirements agreed in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels
  • Identifying and recommending technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary
  • Ensuring execution of volume, conforming product and on-time delivery targets for the assigned production lines
  • Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance
  • Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams
  • Ensuring (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed
  • Guiding, motivating and developing direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies

Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 to 15 years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in leadership and management. Good knowledge of scheduling and production control processes
  • Knowledge of supply chain insourcing and outsourcing decisions and process. Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is an added advantage
  • Advanced understanding of excel and other database tools
  • Strong ERP experience (SAP) Torque and AMSAP. Experience in organizational change and change management
