Our vehicles are on the road in California, Arizona, and Michigan navigating some of the most challenging and unpredictable driving environments. We’re hiring people who want to solve some of today’s most complex engineering challenges and make a positive impact. 

You will collaborate with engineering teams on streamlining workflows in most crucial areas of our operations: from precision mapping to machine learning, from data science to R&D fleet operations and fleet management.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the problems Cruise is trying to solve by building a variety of internal products which support our self driving cars.

  • Design tools and workflows which balance quality and efficiency to produce the right product for each of our customer requests. 

  • Partner with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, designers and operators to interpret and satisfy requirements from all stakeholders.

  • Focus primarily on user flows and interfaces, own user interactions end-to-end.

  • Contribute to every aspect of product design from research, concept ideation, to development, testing, optimization and refinement. 

  • Iterate quickly to build scalable products in a rapidly changing environment.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong understanding of human-computer interaction and UX concepts

  • Experience in turning complex workflows into scalable tasks and tools

  • Experience designing web application interfaces

  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS

Bonus Points:

  • Experience conducting user research and A/B tests

  • Familiarity with modern front end frameworks (React or similar)

  • Experience or desire to expand your skills to other areas of design (visual, print, hardware, research)
