Academia is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to join our team.

Our ideal candidate is an engineer who can augment their mobile experience and expertise with a generalist outlook. You will be the first mobile engineer in our company and you will lead our mobile development while working closely with the rest of the product engineering team.

Good knowledge of iOS or Android development, deployment, and best-practices, as well as an ambition to lead an engineering team will make you a great candidate for this position. You will be leading a key new engineering initiative for Academia.

Our stack is Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and Neo4J, all running on EC2 spot instances with autoscaling, and using Ansible for configuration management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related major strongly preferred.  
  • Hands-on experience building, deploying, and scaling mobile applications.
  • 2-5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of web services architecture, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies
