A vacancy has now arisen for a Maintenance Apprentice within the Maintenance Department at our Aberdare site. Responsible for the maintenance of the Cable Manufacturing operation and Site Services, this position will be working a Monday to Friday shift pattern, as part of a small team to ensure effective maintenance programmes are implemented in a dynamic, high volume manufacturing environment. A willingness to work flexibly and commitment to work overtime is required.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate an interest in practical applications at home and ideally a work environment. The role will involve working as a trainee maintenance technician in a busy, high volume manufacturing environment and will require successful completion of a recognised academic qualification, ideally to HNC level in a suitable discipline. The successful candidate should ideally be able to demonstrate an interest in mechanical disciplines. 

The successful candidate must be comfortable working using their own initiative with a strong desire to succeed in a sometimes challenging environment.

The candidate must be computer literate and have good knowledge of Microsoft Windows

Key responsibilities are as follows;

  • To maintain, repair and fault find on plant and machinery using various maintenance disciplines.
  • Contribute toward machine efficiency and development programmes using existing maintenance programmes and CI methodologies.
  • Complete preventative maintenance inspections and identify and implement action plans needed to stop reoccurring faults.
