Role Overview

Our engineering team is going through an exciting phase of going from Data at Rest to Data in Motion using event-driven architecture (EDA) and NoSql storage technologies. Do you believe testing should be at the heart of any engineering effort? Do you believe that ruthless simplification and refactoring are the soul of any engineering effort? Do you want to help establish an Engineering culture with these fundamentals? Technology is changing rapidly, and that pace is only accelerating. We are expanding our Engineering teams to leverage these new technologies and modernize our entire Data Management Platform. Come join us to learn and apply new technologies and prepare our platforms for the many growth opportunities which lie ahead

Responsibilities:

  • Be a key contributor in the implementation of solutions
  • Create cloud-native data streaming frameworks using technologies like Kafka, Flink and Kubernetes to process large datasets in near real-time, enhancing the speed and accuracy of our production data pipelines.
  • Able to operate within a lean agile team of cloud software engineers to partner with business and technology teams to design and develop scalable and highly available cloud-native solution
  • Contribute to the development of cutting-edge enterprise data solutions in a fast-paced environment using modern solutions to solve complex data challenges leveraging the cloud
  • Provide world-class support across cloud engineering, operations and applications
  • Contribute improvements to our development processes and GitHub Actions based CI/CD pipelines.
  • Willing to learn new technologies, capable of self-directed learning 
  • Author and maintain technical design documents.
  • Refactor design and implementation for stories owned, based on requirement changes.
  • Define and maintain coding standards and guide team members to comply with these standards.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance engineers to fix defects.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently and independently manage time

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related major from top institutions, Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Open-source frameworks and developing native Cloud solutions.
  • Experience with service-based architectures, such as microservices.
  • Experience with data practices and technologies including data lake, data warehousing, analytics and business intelligence.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean Startup, XP) and multi-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, Data Analysts)
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to translate technical concepts to business concepts and vice versa
  • Client focused, proactive, and results oriented
  • Quickly learns new technologies; proactively seeks to improve

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong experience with programming languages: Java, C#
  • Competent in Development tools: Visual Studio, IntelliJ, GIT
  • Competent in Development Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Linux.
  • Competent in AWS container services such as EKS and ECS
  • Familiarity with AWS storage services such as DocumentDB, DynamoDB, S3
  • Familiarity with databases: MongoDB, SQL, MySql, etc.
  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka and Flink is a plus
