At Zscaler, we're on a mission to make the internet safe for every user, anywhere. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our Zscaler platform initiatives product management team and have a direct impact on our roadmap. In this role, you will own one or more product areas and lead the design of solutions for Zscaler platform. You must possess a blend of business and technical skills, have a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality with extreme attention to detail. This role consists of both inbound Product Management responsibilities – working with internal cross functional teams to build and enhance products – as well as outbound responsibilities, interacting with customers, executing go-to-market strategy, and supporting sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Vision: Define and drive the unified user experience for internet access, SaaS and private applications security in alignment with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success teams to bring products to market and ensure their success.
  • Customer Engagement: Directly engage with customers to understand their challenges, gather product feedback, and identify new opportunities.
  • Hands-on product leader: Ability to hold technical discussions with customers and engineering stakeholders, author product requirement documents; collaborate with engineering and lead Jira stories planning etc.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct competitor analysis and stay abreast of the latest trends in cybersecurity platforms.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to end-of-life, ensuring that products meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Internal Advocacy: Act as the internal subject matter expert, providing training and support to sales and other teams.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7-10 years of experience in product management, with a significant focus on building platforms at scale and familiarity with cybersecurity.
  • Platform and User Experience: Prior experience in building platforms, data analytics and user experience design is a must.
  • Technical Proficiency: Understanding of Proxy Architecture, HTTP, DNS, SSL, Malware Detection, IPS, Advanced Threat Protection, Sandboxing, and endpoint security. Familiarity with cloud-based security solutions, familiarity with Zscaler's offerings, is a plus.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results.
  • Customer-centric: Strong customer engagement skills with a knack for understanding and translating customer needs into product requirements.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions, and devise appropriate strategies. Strong problem solving skills.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex topics clearly and effectively.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s or MBA is a plus.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$175,000—$230,000 USD
