Senior Product Analyst, Growth


Job Description

Atlassian is in need of a Senior Product Analyst to join our Growth team, that applies its mindset to product development where the true north star is user growth. The team utilizes every strategy, every tactic, and every initiative in the hopes of growing the product's user base. The Growth team is all about applying a scientific approach to find ways to accelerate Atlassian's user growth rate.

Are you interested in how users behave and what makes a product successful? Do you have the niggling suspicion that a deeper analysis of product features might uncover why some of them work and others are never used by anyone? Do you love the idea of rapidly iterating on new features as experiments against thousands of users to find ones that move the needle and hit customer engagement & growth out of the ballpark? Then this is a great opportunity for you.

Growth Hacking is multidisciplinary. Your analytical mind is essential for prioritizing ideas for impact on growth and speed of delivery.

In this role:

  • You will help your team to understand what users are actually doing in our products so that we can ship more successful experiments and make a real impact on Atlassian's growth.
  • You will show your love for statistics and the knowledge that there is more to A/B testing than p-values.
  • You're passionate about communicating complicated analysis in compelling ways that deliver understanding and drive action.
  • You know a great piece of analysis isn't finished until you can see the results in the product.

More about you

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Experience running rigorous experiments in a software or non-software capacity
  • Familiarity with event-based analytics, and a curiosity to learn more
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL
  • Proficiency in one or more analytics & visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Mode, etc.)
  • Ability to work comfortably with a command line interface

It's great, but not required, if you have:

  • Experience working in a global environment with remote teams
  • Experience in using at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Spark, etc)
  • Experience with statistical packages such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.
  • An advanced degree in a quantitative discipline, such as statistics, mathematics, economics, or computer science

We're also always looking for excellent written and verbal communication skills, a great eye for detail, and a sense of humor.
