Job Description

As the market leader in providing financial services to the world’s most innovative tech and life science companies and investors, SVB has exposure to vast amounts of data covering the breadth of the startup and VC landscape. While data has been integral to SVB’s growth over the past 30+ years, we’re placing an even greater emphasis on being a data-driven organization by establishing the Analytics & Sales Operations team to support all sales focused aspects of our banking practice.
As a Sales Ops associate, you will be responsible for supporting Sales initiatives through two channels. First, by directly supporting the sales team, which focuses on growing revenue and strengthening relationships with technology companies from Early through Corporate stages. Second, by providing insights and analytics to help facilitate the consumption of the intelligence platform, empowering the organization through data analytics.
  • Researching and profiling targeted prospects
  • Supporting client meetings by preparing Relationship Managers with appropriate research
  • Assist with ad hoc data and research requests from the Relationship Managers
  • Train Relationship Managers on CRM and reporting tools to drive technical analysis of sales and activities
  • Collaborate with Sales, Sales Operations, and Sales Enablement to document, communicate, and enforce policies and processes
  • Automate and improve scalable processes, tools, and dashboards to drive operational and business efficiency
  • Assisting with maintenance and accuracy of company data within SVB’s data warehouse, CRM systems and other repositories
  • Leading long term projects to enhance the underlying data architecture and sales operations


  • Familiarity using and developing reports, metrics and dashboards with Excel, SQL, Tableau, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Self-aware, transparent, collaborative, and open to feedback
  • Aptitude for framing business questions in analytic terms and translating business requirements into useful datasets and analyses with actionable insights
  • Customer service oriented and ability to partner with individuals at all levels
  • Effective, clear, and concise communication skills, verbal and written
  • 0-2 years’ experience
  • A love for hotkeys
  • Having hobbies and/or enjoying sharing experiences
