What You'll Do

As a (Senior) Manager in Technology and Digital consulting for Energy players (utilities and Oil & gas) you will lead multidisciplinary teams to design and orchestrate high-impact, digital transformation programs for our clients.

• Lead Technology & Digital Strategy Engagements

Define end-to-end digital transformation strategies for energy clients across the Oil & Gas and Utilities value chain.

Translate business goals into technology roadmaps, investment plans, and modernization initiatives.

Assess clients’ IT and digital maturity, and design target operating models and digital architectures that drive measurable impact.

Advise C-suite stakeholders on emerging technologies and innovation opportunities aligned with energy transition and net-zero objectives.

• Drive Delivery of Complex Digital Solutions

Lead complex programs spanning cloud, data, IoT, and advanced analytics to enhance business capabilities

Oversee design of cutting edge digital solutions (like digital twin, AI, and smart operations solutions to optimize all processes across the energy value chain (power generation and distribution, power retail, O&G industrial operations, Oil & Gas retail, EV charging processes, etc...)

• Engage in Client Relationship & Business Development

Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across business and IT functions.

Identify new opportunities and contribute to business development, proposal creation, and thought leadership on digital energy innovation.

Support BCG case teams by providing deep technical and architectural expertise in digital strategy engagements.

• Contribute to BCG Platinion’s Growth

Mentor and coach junior consultants and team members.

Shape BCG Platinion’s offerings in Energy & Utilities, contributing to internal knowledge development, frameworks, and best practices.

Collaborate across BCG X, BCG Digital Ventures, and BCG core consulting teams to deliver integrated transformation solutions.

What You'll Bring

• 7–15 years of experience in technology consulting, software engineering leadership, or AI-driven transformation — ideally within a top-tier consultancy, a tech company, or a leading digital organization serving clients in in Energy sector (Utilities Power generation conventional or renewables, Utilities transmission and distribution. Oil & Gas Upstream, Refining and Chemicals and marketing, commodities trading).
• Proven leadership in designing, managing, and delivering complex Technology and Digital transformation programs that generate measurable business outcomes
• Strategic and analytical mindset, capable of framing complex business and technical challenges into actionable transformation roadmaps and value-driven initiatives.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills with senior and C-level stakeholders; comfortable leading strategic discussions, workshops, and steering committees.
• Strong ability to connect technology decisions to business value, ensuring that AI and engineering initiatives directly contribute to client performance and innovation.
• Entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset — proactive ownership, initiative, and active contribution to go-to-market activities, client relationship development, and practice growth.
• High ethical standards and professional integrity: trust, confidentiality, and respect in all client and team interactions.
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM fields, or in Business with a strong understanding of technology.

Proven experience in one or more of the following:

• Energy specific digital platforms (Aveva, Cognite, OSDU, SLB softwares, Aspentech)
• Utilities specific digital solutions (SAP ISU, SAP Utilities, Kraken, Powercloud, Kaluza)
• AI and advanced analytics use cases for asset optimization or sustainability
• Oil & Gas specific processes (asset management, hydrocarbon accounting, Upstream operations, capital projects, JV accounting)
• Utilities specific processes (asset management, grid operations, power generation. utilities customer relationship management, utilities metering and billing)
