What We Do:

With BirdEye’s tools, businesses can engage in every step of the customer journey, establish a positive online presence, and benchmark performance across locations and against competitors. BirdEye powers reputation and customer experience for 20,000+ businesses, 250+ digital agencies and F1000 clients. Based in Palo Alto, CA, BirdEye was founded in 2012 by alumni from Yahoo, Google, Amazon and Cisco.

Our engineering team works on challenging problems every day. We have a team culture that truly believes in constantly learning and improving, and our engineers are always encouraged to think big and experiment with new ideas. Our engineers are responsible for building polished products and writing high quality code by designing APIs and abstractions that are extensible and maintainable. Everyone on the engineering team has a huge impact on our product and our company.

Requirements

-Tier 1/2 universities (IIT, BITS, RECs, IIIT, Good Tier 2s), above-average GPAs (8+)

- Stable 2+ year tenure at each company

Past background: managed large scale cloud based applications

Management skills: N/A (no reports)

Technical skills: AWS, Linux server management, CI (Jenkins), production deployment, DB management, Hadoop.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for building and deploying automation using CI tools, Scripting tools such as Shell/Perl/Python.
  • Automate build and deployment processes in a hybrid (AWS + proprietary) hosting environment
  • Develop & manage scripts and tools for deployment of new servers and services
  • Develop scripts to automate problem detection and monitoring
  • Work with Engineering and Business Operations teams to understand monitoring requirements
  • Document monitoring processes implemented across the system
  • Participate in capacity planning exercises for future needs and projects

Skills Required:

Experience as engineer in a scalable production environment

Experience with Tomcat and Apache deployments and configuration

Knowledge of Windows/Linux systems administration and with tools like Jenkins, GIT etc.

Must have experience in (RMS) Release Management processes in agile projects.

Expertise in build management and software configuration management.

Excellent analytical & troubleshooting skills, as well as innovation and creativity.
