Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Process/Product Design Engineer role based in York, PA and will serve as two primary functions.

As the role of Process Engineer, responsibilities include designing, optimizing, and implementing production processes and systems to enhance efficiency and quality. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating current manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities, managing process controls, and collaborating with operations teams to develop innovative solutions. The role also involves applying analytical and electrical engineering expertise in troubleshooting and developing effective manufacturing solutions.

The role of Product Design Engineer involves designing, developing, and enhancing products to meet customer specifications and industry standards. Key responsibilities include conducting research and development (R&D), implementing process improvements, designing and costing new products, and overseeing product engineering activities. The engineer will also troubleshoot and resolve challenges in product performance and manufacturing processes to ensure optimal results.

Job Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes as needed
  • Identify and implement manufacturing improvements to increase efficiencies, improve quality and reduce costs
  • Work with maintenance to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Provide training to production personnel on the proper operation of equipment
  • Run trials for qualification samples and new products
  • Investigate quality issues and implement corrective action as needed
  • Develop and maintain all manufacturing instructions
  • Develop and maintain costing for all products
  • Design new products by selecting appropriate materials and cable designs that will meet the required specifications
  • Obtain qualifications (QPL) for any new navy cables and maintaining qualification retention every 3 years of current navy products.
  • Provide technical support and customer service for all products
  • Coordinate with UL for new listings and maintenance of current listings
  • Provide support for UL onsite inspections

Qualifications

  • Strong Product Engineering and Product Design skills with attention to detail
  • Expertise in Process Control and Analytical Skills
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to drive innovation
  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and improving manufacturing processes
  • Excellent Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Experience in navy shipboard cable is beneficial
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in York, PA
