What this opportunity involves:

We are seeking a Leasing Paralegal to join our team on a maternity leave contract. You will work collaboratively with our Retail Leasing and Transaction Management team, client, external legal providers to coordinate the negotiation and execution of lease documents for one of our prestigious clients’ national retail network.

You will primarily be supporting the timeline turnaround of lease documentation, monitoring and escalating risks with mitigation recommendations. You will have the opportunity to support the national portfolio, gaining exposure to different states and their legislations.

This full-time position is a 13-month fixed-term maternity cover contract, with an anticipated start date in late January 2026 and contract end date of 26 February 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing legal documentation (instructing and negotiating to ensure smooth execution of lease transactions)
  • Support lease negotiations with risk mitigation principles and practical approaches
  • Ensure compliance with company processes, policies, and critical client requirements
  • Maintain accurate paralegal databases and file management systems
  • Handle lease interpretations, disputes, and general ad hoc legal matters
  • Provide reporting, analysis, and meeting support as required
  • Contribute to process improvements and template updates
  • Generate purchase orders and coordinate payment of legal invoices

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Holds either Legal or Property qualifications and/or has relevant experience in the Real Estate industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of leases or contracts, preferably gained in the property or legal industry
  • Leasing administration experience is highly regarded.
  • Excellent data management skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage priorities within tight deadlines
  • Ability to review, implement new processes, and ensure best practices
