Job Title: EVS Aide - Janitor

Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and dedicated EVS Aide - Janitor to join our team in Apple Valley. The primary responsibility will be to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of patient rooms and common areas within a hospital setting. Training on proper floor care techniques such as stripping, buffing, and waxing will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms after patient discharges, including bathrooms.
• Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, which includes taking out trash, cleaning linen, mopping floors, and doing laundry.
• Work closely with nursing staff and be comfortable in a hospital environment, including exposure to blood, urine, and vomit.
• Perform porter duties by cleaning common areas such as lobbies, elevators, and hallways.
• Read and complete work orders such as trash removal or spill requests.

Essential Skills

• Customer service oriented.
• Experience in housekeeping and janitorial duties.
• Ability to mop, clean, and sanitize effectively.
• Proficiency in English speaking.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 year of high-volume experience in environments such as hospitals, hotels, schools, universities, office buildings, sports arenas, and amusement parks is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.

Work Environment

The work will primarily take place in the main hospital's Tower 1 and 2, which houses the ER, surgical suites, food services, and patient rooms. Staff will also work in medical office buildings and the conference center. This role requires individuals who are comfortable with hands-on cleaning and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a hospital setting. The department is fast-paced, and keeping busy is crucial. There is no sitting allowed while on duty, emphasizing the need for active and self-motivated individuals.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Apple Valley, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
