Scope of the role:

Mollie is seeking a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our Risk & Fraud department. It is your job to monitor the transactions of our customers, to prevent our platform from being used for criminal activities.

Transaction Monitoring alerts are designed to detect possible unusual transactional behaviour which will need to be assessed. Through thorough investigation, you will determine if any activity is deemed unusual and/ or suspicious and needs to be reported to the authorities. By doing so, we help to keep Mollie safe from integrity risks and contribute to keeping the financial landscape safe. 

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Conduct investigations for generated alerts for possible Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing or Corruption.
  • Summarize & analyse in writing, clear and concise findings of transaction monitoring investigations. Escalate results through the appropriate channels where applicable.
  • Work together with internal stakeholders our CDD, Risk and Compliance departments to mitigate risks
  • Identifying and improving gaps in our monitoring and operational risk-control efforts. 
  • Research new modus operandi and distribute knowledge among the department
  • Communicate with customers to Analyse findings, determine if current risk rating remains appropriate and make recommendations on mitigation required to start, continue or rationale to exit the relationship.
  • Review proposed trading activity or existing Merchant activity to make sure it is consistent with the nature and purpose of the business relationship, highlighting any changes in activity since the last review where relevant.
  • Be up to date with the latest developments on integrity risks

Experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience in transaction monitoring for financial institutions is desirable. 
  • In depth knowledge of AML, CTF, ABC and Sanctions.
  • Relevant financial crime qualifications are desirable e.g. ACAMS or ICA Diploma.
  • Excellent communication skills including report writing and the ability to understand and disseminate complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Detail oriented and the ability to work to tight deadlines using your own initiative and prioritise your own workload.
  • Good knowledge on open source intelligence research
