Local CDL Driver / Warehouse Associate

Job Summary:

Work consists of driving a tractor-trailer between the Mueller Decatur location(s), transporting materials and equipment between facilities. CDL required. Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment when driving is not needed for the shift.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading tractor trailers and delivering material by forklift to departments.
  • Operations of a tractor-trailer and hold a valid CDL license for operation
  • Move material from Quality Control to proper department.
  • Load empty tubs and chip tubs for the foundry.
  • Pick up and deliver mail between plants.
  • Pick up and deliver outsourced material from local vendors.
  • Keep truck neat and clean, take truck to be fueled as needed.
  • Report any mechanical difficulties.
  • Keep track of mileage in daily IDOT log.
  • Take truck to be inspected every 6 months.
  • Help unload inbound trucks.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform inventory audits and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Operate material handling equipment in accordance with Plant Safety Rules and OSHA standards.
  • Standard operation and verification of part number, quantity and traction of material movements.
  • Ability to work and transfer across all plants/warehouses & assist in those required job duties.
  • Operate material handling equipment across all plants/warehouses.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Equipment Used:

  • Appropriate PPE for job description
  • Material handling equipment (both mobile & hand) such as high lift, scales for weight measurement, vacuums, brooms, shovels, etc.
  • Operation of order picker, turret, tugger, and hand scanner(s)
  • Operation of tractor-trailer

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class “A” CDL License
  • Ability to pass required IDOT physical exam and drug/alcohol screen & random drug/alcohol as required by IDOT
  • Driving record free of accidents or citations
  • Must have and maintain all required material handling equipment certifications
