Join our team as a BI Controller, where you will be responsible for supporting and further developing our reporting and planning solutions. You'll be part of an innovative team, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance reporting accuracy and identify strategic opportunities for process improvement.
This is a hybrid role that combines Controlling with technical responsibilities in SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). Therefore, we are looking for candidates with proven experience in this area and a strong interest in data modelling and dashboard development.
Ideally, candidates have hands-on experience with SAP Datasphere and SAC, or alternatively, a solid experience in comparable technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Data Warehousing, SQL, MS Fabric, etc.
Key responsibilities:
- Part of the Controlling Planning & Reporting team, responsible for supporting and further developing our reporting and planning solution based on the SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud.
- Reporting - technical ownership of maintaining and further developing data models—both in the Datasphere and in front-end reporting.
- Planning & Forecasting - support and continuous optimization of our Planning & Forecasting solution in SAC, including operational execution of the annual budgeting process.
- Collaboration - early involvement in conceptual discussions, contributing to requirement definitions and understanding business/technical contexts. The work environment is highly cross-functional with close cooperation across multiple stakeholder groups.
Technical skills:
- Experience (at least 2 years) with developing reports in SAP Analytics Cloud or comparable technology (such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense or similar)
- Experience with SAP Datasphere or comparable data management tools (such as Snowflake, BigQuery or similar)
- Solid understanding of SQL
- Experience with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Excel)
Personality requirements and skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy
- Experience with financial analysis and financial planning process
- Ability to investigate issues thoroughly and ensure quality through functional analysis
- Understand the broader impact of reporting decisions on business processes
- Ask the right questions to understand data and workflows
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques to deliver targeted solutions
- Interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights — going beyond the request to add value
- Work independently, escalating only when necessary
- Maintain organized code and documentation
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Proficiency in English is a must
- Basic German skills would be an advantage, but they are not required.
