What You Will Achieve
As Manager Lab Instrumentation Services within the Preclinical & Translational Services (“P&TS”) organization you will be a key member of the newly formed, P&TS Lab Instrumentation Services Team which has responsibility for performing preventative maintenance, calibrations, timely repairs and installation of R&D equipment which is critical for our R&D scientists’ development of novel medicines.
The successful candidate for the Manager P&TS LIS-Groton, CT role will be able to work independently to install, calibrate, maintain and trouble shoot and repair on a timely basis our Bruker Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (“NMR”) & helium recovery equipment and as time permits, provide general support with other instrumentation equipment such as Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (“LC-MS”), analyzers, flow cytometers, liquid handlers, plate readers, etc.
This hands-on role requires expertise across many disciplines including mechanical engineering, laboratory automation, robotics, project management, instrument protocol & method development, hardware & software troubleshooting, liquid handling, instrument quality control and workflow development & validation.
You will actively partner with P&TS scientists, Global Workplace Experience leads, and external vendors to perform prioritization exercises and to ensure equipment is installed, calibrated, regularly maintained & serviced and that repairs are conducted on a timely basis.
Work independently and/or with minimum supervision to conduct laboratory instrumentation service requests including first response, triage/troubleshooting, repairs, installation and configuration.
Evaluate and develop strategies and programs that assure instrumentation equipment and systems meet or exceed the original manufacturer’s specifications throughout the assets lifecycle.
Provide GxP (Good Laboratory or Manufacturing Practices) compliance and audit readiness.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $96,300.00 to $160,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
