Job Summary

The Emergency Shelter Services Manager position is responsible for the management of the all emergency shelter services. Depending on location this may include for state referred youth, the Empowering Youth and Families program, and provides direct supervision to the Darr Cottage Life Supervisor, Emergency Shelter Services therapist, the Empowering Youth Coordinator, the Empowering Home Coordinator, and Emergency Shelter Services administrative assistant, family child advocates, and court advocates. This position requires some travel and will include some work on nights and weekends.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service focus, excellent time management, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel and email applications. • Skills required include organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Possess a current, valid Class E driver’s license and meet Agency requirements for insurance

Experience:

  • Three years’ work experience in a residential setting
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability in behavior management and managing case work
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with referral agencies, families and staff

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling and licensed or seeking licensure as a LPC or LCSW
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience working in a trauma informed environment
