Job Description
Admissions Coordinator
Indian River State College
Help students return, persist, and shape their futures.
At Indian River State College, we’re committed to opening doors, creating belonging, and helping every learner find their path. We’re looking for an Admissions Coordinator who is passionate about reconnecting former, adult, and transfer students with opportunities that move their lives forward.
In this role, you’ll support a major piece of the College’s enrollment strategy—leading outreach to students who paused their education, coordinating bachelor’s program recruitment across the region, and ensuring that every learner has a smooth, student-centered admissions experience.
If you’re a strong communicator, relationship-builder, and problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment, this position offers the chance to make an immediate impact.
What You’ll Do
Student Outreach & Re-Engagement
- Conduct proactive outreach via phone, email, text, and social media to former, stopped-out, and transfer students.
- Provide one-on-one guidance on programs, credit transfers, and degree completion pathways.
- Train and supervise admissions support staff working with re-entry, bachelor’s, and transfer student groups.
- Ensure timely, accurate documentation and follow-up in CRM/SIS systems.
- Grow the prospect and applicant pool through targeted communication and recruitment events.
Admissions Coordination & Student Support
- Streamline and improve admissions processes for bachelor’s, transfer, and re-entry students.
- Admit qualified students and guide them through every step of the re-entry process.
- Identify academic, financial, or scheduling barriers and connect students with appropriate services.
- Partner closely with academic departments, advising, financial aid, and student services to support student success.
- Monitor caseload progress and ensure compliance with institutional and state policies.
- Provide coaching and training to admissions and outreach staff on best practices.
Data, Reporting & Campus Collaboration
- Track enrollment metrics, recruitment performance, and conversion trends.
- Maintain detailed records of all outreach and student interactions.
- Prepare reports on enrollment and outreach to inform College leadership.
- Collaborate with Institutional Research and Marketing to refine data-driven recruitment strategies.
- Support planning and execution of re-entry, transfer, and bachelor’s recruitment initiatives both on and off campus.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in admissions or recruitment within a college or university
- Supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership within recruitment teams
- Strong ability to assess, track, and report on admissions and recruitment efforts
- Experience developing enrollment goals and building pathways for diverse student populations
- Ability to collaborate across departments and engage effectively with adult and transfer learners
- Excellent public speaking, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
- Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience working with transfer populations (highly desired)
- Proficiency in Spanish (preferred)
Physical Requirements
This position is classified as light work, which may involve periods of standing or walking during events and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
