Summary description:
The General Laborer is responsible for supporting the paper mill’s production operations by performing a variety of manual tasks, ensuring equipment cleanliness, assisting machine operators, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.
Primary accountabilities:
- Assist in the overall operations of paper mill machinery and equipment under supervision.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including sweeping, shoveling, and waste removal.
- Monitor production processes and report any irregularities or equipment malfunctions.
- Perform routine checks and minor maintenance tasks as directed.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support other team members and departments as needed to meet production goals. initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work 8 and/or 12-hour rotating shifts & overtime including nights, weekends & holidays.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
