Position: Site Operations Manager

Estimated Duration: The client approximates that this project will be a 5+ years. However, there is no guarantee of employment for any length of time.

Pay Rate Range: $50-75/hr.

Position Summary: Acts as the onsite lead for operational delivery, ensuring compliance with laboratory policies and providing direct oversight of service desk, deskside support, and AV/VTC operations.

Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:

  • Manage daily operations of onsite support teams, including Service Desk and Desktop Support.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with Argonne or Fermilab service owners for incident resolution and project support.
  • Oversee resource scheduling, training compliance, and inventory management.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for onsite escalations and VIP support

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in IT operations or technical support leadership.
  • Strong understanding of desktop, AV/VTC, and networking environments.
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation certification (minimum).
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
  • Experience managing operations in a high-security or research environment.
