IT Technician - Information Technology

Position Overview –

AJM Packaging Corporation, a leading manufacturer of paper plates, cups, bowls and bags is seeking an IT Technician at our corporate office in Bloomfield Hills, MI. This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the computer and network hardware for this growing manufacturer.

Responsibilities & Duties –

• Set up, install, and configure computer hardware, peripherals, and other technology equipment.
• Provide technical support to end-users, including resolving hardware and software issues.
• Assist users with setting up and configuring their workstations and accounts.
• Onboard users of accounts and devices using 365, Entra, and Exchange.
• Manage and support warehouse scanners and tablets within the Mobile device management system using Intune, Soti
• Experience with RF-Smart a plus but not required.
• Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades, installations, and deployments.
• Provide excellent customer service by being responsive, courteous, and professional.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including hardware and software inventories.
• Complete all other duties the Supervisor deems necessary.

Minimum Requirements –

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in the IT field.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
• Ability to learn all aspects of Information Technology including (but not limited to) networking, programming, Active Directory, computer repair, operating system install, hardware management, wireless access points, VPN clients and firewalls.
• Proficient in applications such as MS Office 365 and Active Directory.
• Excellent communication skills: must be able to establish & maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the company, vendors, contractors, and the general public.
• Highly motivated and self-directed; proactive & responsive to change; able to recognize issues and inconsistencies and bring them to the attention of the team.
• Office 365 Admin center and Azure AD experience is a plus.

AJM was originally founded as a distributor of commercial paper, plastic and foil packaging products and related cleaning, janitorial and order processing supplies and equipment by three (3) Detroit area brothers operating out of a small warehouse in Detroit’s Eastern Market. In 1957 they built and moved into slightly larger quarters on Detroit’s southwest side, where, for the very first time, they began manufacturing their own products. Over the ensuing decades, AJM gradually evolved from its broadline distributor beginnings into a major paper products manufacturer, today employing nearly 3,000 people and operating eight (8) manufacturing and five (5) warehouse/distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States.
