Description
Valero is looking for an HVAC Mechanic to join the Facility Maintenance team at the Valero Headquarters in San Antonio, TX. The HVAC Mechanic Ensures that all mechanical equipment and systems are installed, operated, monitored, and maintained as designed, which in turn keeps the facility up and running at all times for all sites within the greater San Antonio area. Duties may include:
- Performs diagnostics testing and repairs on equipment and systems.
- Performs installations, adjustments, repairs, and preventive maintenance on various types of equipment and systems.
- Operates, maintains, and repairs motors, pumps, belts, fans, and refrigeration equipment.
- Disassembles equipment, and/or performs adjustments, repairs, or part replacement.
- Utilizes Building Management Systems (BMS) to operate, monitor, maintain and program HVAC systems.
- Responds to service calls on mechanical equipment and performs adjustments and/or repairs.
- Ensures all work is performed in accordance with established building codes and safety procedures.
- Implements a consistent and functional Preventive Maintenance program for all mechanical equipment and systems.
- Ensures management is up-to-date on the status of all projects and the associated costs.
- Orders materials, parts, and equipment required for continuous mechanical systems operations.
- Provides services at all Valero sites as required.
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of combined experience in one or more of the following areas required: working on and operating Mechanical equipment and systems; and/or operating, repairing, and maintaining large tonnage chilled water and air cooled air conditioning systems, DX (Liebert) computer room air conditioning units and smaller DX units, and refrigeration systems and equipment.
- 3 years of HVAC commercial service and maintenance experience required.
- 3 years of experience operating, maintaining, and working on centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and building management systems (BMS) required.
- Ability and willingness to work 24/7 on-call service for a one week period, 4 times per year to provide Facility Maintenance assistance at Valero locations, including the Corporate Office, Data Center, Hangar, and Ranch.
- Ability and willingness to travel to alternate work locations as business needs dictate.
- Currently possess or be able to obtain a valid Texas Driver's License within specified timeframe.
- Currently possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within specified timeframe.
Preferred:
- 5 years of basic facility maintenance experience, repairing general maintenance items, plumbing, and electrical experience preferred.
- 3 years of variable frequency drive experience and completed training preferred.
- 3 years of water chemical treatment experience preferred.
