Technical Sales Engineer

Designs, develops and implements sales programs to meet the organization's business objectives. Plans, directs and coordinates the efforts of sales staff toward the accomplishment of objectives. Responsibilities are within the sales function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.

Job Summary:

  • Handle Top Customers directly and provide sales support to distributors and Bottom customers and ensure that sales targets are achieved as per budget
  • Train the distributor sales team on EPS products and their benefits.
  • Support marketing activities with distributors by participating in key trade exhibitions/shows and other events to promote Nordson products.
  • Implement NBS Next principles in this designated role.

Job Role & Responsibility:

  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales plan for EPS products in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh region.
  • Build customer relationships at all levels and establish rapport with existing and potential customers through regular calls or visits, acting as first point of contact for Nordson customers/Distributors.
  • Implement the sales program by developing field sales action plans.
  • Maintain sales volume, and product mix by establishing and promoting product value rather than price.
  • Keep track of market conditions, customer growth plans and competitive scenario and ensure alignment of these with our development plans.
  • Sustain average selling prices by appropriate product positioning and value proposition while monitoring our competitive landscape.
  • Maintain documentation and proper records of work operations and decisions taken.
  • Mentor and motivate technical staff to deliver timely and high-quality services to customers.
  • Present weekly sales reports to company management with useful information in taking key business decisions
  • Ensure compliance with set health/safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on EPS products by participating in training programs.
  • Work closely and directly with Nordson Top customers and ensure that we maximize our goodwill which in turn would result in increased revenue generating opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales teams in other regions for cross territory opportunities, evaluations, and application support.
  • Set up robust distributor management systems and ensure that distributors are aligned with Nordson business goals and performance indicators including service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Distributors tend to have multiple competitive products. Establish contacts and develop strong relationships with distributors through regular visits and contact and ensure we become their preferred partner.
  • Support marketing activities with distributors by participating in key trade exhibitions/shows and other events to promote Nordson products.
  • Maintain up to date information through the CRM system and provide feedback to management, including reports on equipment, parts, and service failures.
