Job Purpose

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for scheduling the paper machines in an efficient manner to ensure our customer orders are met while maximizing the paper machines efficiency and runnability. The Logistics Coordinator will assist in developing strategic inventory planning for all finished goods including make & hold and export inventories in the Longview Mill warehouse in order to optimize warehouse storage capacities and manage the revolving flow of inventory.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Schedule the Paper Machines:
    1. Execute the batches for the Paper Machines.
    2. Print new batches – check master data (wraps/straps and label code), check trim and closed inventory.
    3. Check over and under for each batch on each machine.
    4. Close completed batches on the schedule
    5. Apply any closed inventory to new orders.
    6. Fix any wrong finishing codes.
    7. Fix any trim issues on the machines by adding good widths to trim sheet.
    8. Determine how many vehicles and mode for each order in batch and activate CSNs in OTM and Panther.
    9. Fix load planning any no mingle customers by matching order and CSN in OTM.
    10. Work with machine superintendent to line grades for least transition beater.
  2. Manage daily inventory levels and flow:
    1. Tender uncovered floor tons.
    2. Apply closed inventory to new production orders and short machine production.
    3. Go through inventory making sure there is a CSN for every load that can ship and making sure there is inventory for every active tendered CSN.
    4. Maintain a Cull Spreadsheet & send out a EOM Report on the 1st of each month.
    5. Submit billings for Cull cars
  3. Customer Service:
    1. Keep customer profile updated (no mingle flag, labels, and loading comments)
    2. Answer phone calls/emails from operations, transportation, sales, &/or customer service regarding order production timing, inventory levels, transportation, etc.
  4. Provide support relative to Logistics, Sales, and Transportation information systems and hardware.

  • 3-5 years related experience preferred
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively and in a professional manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Position requires regular keyboarding and sitting, as well as walking trips out into an industrial warehouse. Work is primarily performed in an office and warehouse environment with general exposure to industrialized moving equipment and noise as well as exposure to the mill.
  • Position requires less than 5% of domestic travel.

The salary range for this position is $46,125.00 - $76,875.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
