IT Help Desk Technician

Job Description

Pay: $30.00 - $31.25/ hour

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday

(A hybrid work schedule is possible with the option to work remotely for up to two days per week after six months, contingent on a performance review.)

Job Summary:

The IT Help Desk Technician provides IT Help Desk technical support to the user community.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for Windows, Microsoft Office, and Network issues.
  • Provide support for Microsoft 365 apps such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Assist with the imaging and installation of PC’s.
  • Provision Active Directory, Azure, and Exchange Online accounts.
  • Perform user training for new hires and others.
  • Provision iPhones and iPads and support users with mobile device connectivity issues.
  • Provide support for MFA (Multifactor Authentication).
  • Provide support for Avaya IP Office phone system issues.
  • Writing manuals (user guides).
  • Ability to manage a high volume of Help Desk calls and emails every day. 
  • Other related activities that may be required and deemed necessary by the Supervisor.

Education Requirements:

  • High School degree required.

Experience Requirements (in years):

  • 3 years IT Help Desk.

Required Competencies/Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Microsoft Suite competency.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Teams, and Outlook.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification is strongly preferred.
  • Basic networking skills are required.
  • A CompTIA Network+ Certification is strongly preferred.
  • Case management software proficiency (PC patching, inventory and ticketing).
  • Dell Latitude and OptiPlex PC’s support is preferred.
  • Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environment experience.
  • Palo Alto Global Protect VPN support is a plus.
  • SharePoint and OneDrive support is a plus.
  • PowerShell experience is a plus.
  • Technical, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to document technical issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to travel on average 2-4 weeks per year.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
