The Assistant Professor in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center will also serve as the Assistant Director of the Evidence-Based Practice, Outcomes & Impact Center (EPIC). This position provides leadership in the design, analysis, and reporting of health services evaluation projects, including defining project scope, identifying resources, establishing timelines, and producing summary reports.
The Assistant Professor expands EPIC’s research portfolio by partnering with existing collaborators and pursuing new research and contract opportunities, including those offered by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). The role also serves as a co-investigator and project manager for studies focused on practice patterns, healthcare utilization, cost-effectiveness, and variations in clinical practice across the health system. In addition, the Assistant Professor coordinates multidisciplinary teams, contributes health services research expertise to institutional and interinstitutional projects, and participates in the education and training of learners within the Department of Internal Medicine.

Required Qualifications
Education: MD or PhD in Clinical Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Economics, Health Research Methodology, or a related discipline, or equivalent degree.
